Our Team:
The Financial Management function supports a wide range of operational departments across the Council. You will be involved in the full range of activities across the annual financial cycle from setting budgets, monitoring the budget outturn position to closing down accounts at financial year-end. You will be well supported from all levels but also given the chance to be creative and innovative to problem solving and improving processes.
Your Contributions:
Halton Borough Council is seeking to appoint a talented, forward thinking and conscientious Finance Officer to support the Financial Management function.
This is a great opening for the right candidate to work for a Council that seeks to reward candidates with a competitive salary, generous annual leave allowance and the opportunity to be supported through further professional studies, in particular the CIPFA professional accountancy qualification or equivalent.
The Financial Management function supports a wide range of operational departments across the Council. You will be involved in the full range of activities across the annual financial cycle from setting budgets, monitoring the budget outturn position to closing down accounts at financial year-end. You will be well supported from management but also given the chance to be creative and innovative to problem solving and improving processes.
The successful candidate will have AAT membership or a relevant degree qualification and be expected to show an understanding of local government finances through either experience or reading up on the subject matter prior to application and interview. You will be able to demonstrate the various stages that make up the annual finance cycle. You will have excellent report writing skills, be highly organised and able to plan and prioritise your work.
