However, if you have a disability and are unable to complete an online application, please email recruitment@walthamforest.gov.uk so we can arrange an alternative application method.</b><br><br><b>About the role:</b> <br> <br>The London Borough of Waltham Forest's Out of Mainstream and Alternative Provision team work to secure high quality education places for children and young people who, because of exclusion, illness or other reasons, would not otherwise receive suitable education.<br><br>The service leads on the quality assurance of commissioned providers of alternative provision, supporting young people through induction at their new provision, tracking attendance and supporting them return to mainstream settings, where appropriate and possible. <br> <br>Sitting within the Access, Participation and Inclusion service and working closely with the Behaviour, Attendance and Children Missing Education team, Youth Justice service, Early Help and Children's Social Care this post has a strong focus on safeguarding. and securing positive pathways to enable children and young adults to achieve positive outcomes.<br><br> We are seeking to recruit a permanent <b>Lead for Quality in Out of Mainstream and Alternative Provision</b> to: lead a robust programme of quality assurance for all Out of Mainstream and Alternative Provision settings commissioned by Waltham Forest to provide educational placements; ensure the transition programme for children and young people placed by Waltham Forest in Out of mainstream and Alternative Provision settings, and those returning from Out of Mainstream and Alternative Provision back to mainstream settings, to ensure that they are supported to settle successfully into their educational placements; ensure that children and young people placed in Out of Mainstream and Alternative Provision settings are safe and have good attendance; and ensure that children's voices are actively sought, captured and considered by both the service and commissioned providers and incorporated into development plans and commissioning expectations. <br> <br>Candidates must have experience of working within schools and/or colleges, experience of quality assuring alternative provision settings, and an in-depth knowledge of legislation and policy in relation to safeguarding children and young people, education including alternative provision, school attendance and inclusion, and youth justice.
