The Role
As Deputy Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in driving our school's continued success and fostering a culture of excellence in everything we do. Working closely with the Headteacher, Governing Body and Senior Leadership Team, you will lead by example, inspiring colleagues and children alike to strive for greatness and embrace new opportunities for growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management: As a highly effective leader, you will provide strategic direction and guidance to staff, promoting a shared vision for our school. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will support the Headteacher in overseeing the effective day-to-day leadership and management of key areas, including teaching and learning, curriculum development, wellbeing and staff professional development.
Child Wellbeing and Pastoral Care: At Ysgol Gymraeg Cwm Derwen, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to flourish both academically and personally. As Deputy Headteacher, you will champion the wellbeing of our learners, ensuring that they feel safe, supported, and valued as individuals and part of our school community. You will support our positive and inclusive school ethos where everyone can thrive.
Teaching and Learning Excellence: With a passion for educational innovation and best practice, you will drive excellence in teaching and learning across the school. Drawing on your expertise in curriculum design, assessment, and pedagogy, you will inspire and support colleagues to deliver engaging, effectively differentiated lessons that ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and promote academic achievement.
Community Engagement and Partnerships: Building strong relationships with families and external stakeholders is key to our school's success.
