Teaching Assistant

Hours: 33.75 hours per week (8:15am - 3:30pm) for 39 weeks per year

Actual Salary: £22,025 - £22,973 p.a.
We are looking to appoint a flexible, enthusiastic, and conscientious Teaching & Learning Support Assistant with good communication skills and a can-do attitude who is able to work as part of a team and work on their own initiative.
The role will incorporate small group intervention work as well as supporting children in the classroom, this may include 1:1 high needs support as required. The role also includes lunch cover as a Midday. The successful candidate will become part of our friendly, supportive and hard-working team which is dedicated to ensuring our children can ‘Be the best they can be!’ You will work in partnership with class teachers and the SENCO, to support learning in line with the National Curriculum and the Early Years Framework.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is friendly, caring and patient, with a positive outlook;
• Experience of working with children with SEND and children with English as an additional language;
• Experience of early reading teaching (phonics);
• Good communication and ICT skills;
• Strong behaviour management skills and able to support children’s social, emotional well-being;
• Has high expectations for pupils and themselves;
• Excellent inter-personal and organisational skills;
• Has a good sense of humour and shows flexibility at all times;
• Holds at least an NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent;
• Experience of delivering small intervention groups is desirable.
