Blacon High School – More than a school
We are looking to appoint a talented Teacher of Art to start in January 2025, who has the expertise to teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4, and Food at KS3. The successful candidate will be able to teach an inspiring KS3 Art curriculum and primarily GCSE AQA Art and Design: Fine Art, at KS4. You will have the energy and enthusiasm to work with young people to achieve their full potential, to make a difference to their lives and act as a role model.
The successful candidate will have experience in developing inventive and engaging teaching strategies in order to drive standards and enhance the educational provision for students. Evidence of achieving successful outcomes at KS4 is desirable, although ECTs will be considered for the post.
Blacon High School prides itself on being relentless in its desire to provide outstanding learning opportunities. In September 2016 we moved into a new state of the art building and a further extension was completed in September 2021 due to the school being oversubscribed for the 4th year. This has enabled the school to grow from 600 to 750 students.
