Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.</p>\n<p><strong>SALARY:</strong> £29,000 per annum + Benefits</p>\n<p><strong>JOB TYPE:</strong> Full-Time, Permanent</p>\n<p><strong>WORKING HOURS: </strong>Working 12-hour days, 4 on 4 off, 0800 to 2000 hours, including a half an hour unpaid break daily.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>JOB OVERVIEW</strong></p>\n<p>The Multiple Compound Needs service is a two-tiered approach to supporting survivors of domestic abuse whose complex needs means they are not currently suitable for broader, community or residential survivor services.</p>\n<p>Tier 1 being community based, which provides support to survivors (all genders) experiencing multiple and compound needs but who are not at risk of homelessness or already homeless.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Tier 2 being the residential refuge service operating 24/7 365 days per year. The property, based in Eastbourne is for those survivors (female only) who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. Residents will be provided with housing advice, multi-agency liaison, targeted interventions and safety advice as they move towards securing safe accommodation locally.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Working as the Housing Officer you will be able to lead on the delivery of Housing Advice and Support for survivors of Domestic Abuse, Substance Misuse, Offending Behaviour, Health Problems (physical and mental) and Homelessness.</p>\n<p>Located primarily on site, but working within the community too, the Housing Officer role will work with local housing providers, both private and statutory, to support survivors move on from the Service. &nbsp;Duties will include:</p>\n<p>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Accountable for safe, responsive delivery of advice, support and skills facilitation to survivors accessing the MCN service.&nbsp;<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Responsible for completing housing needs assessments, risk assessments and support plans<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;To work as part of a small team, engaging with residents to plan, arrange and deliver/co deliver structured activities to support the resident’s safe re-integration into the community.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;To work in a trauma informed way<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;To support with the provision of practical assistance to residents with everyday tasks such as accessing external services, completing paperwork, accessing benefits, and finding move on accommodation.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Maintain records and files as required, including data entry as necessary and contribute to the completion of incident reports.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Essential</strong></p>\n<p>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Comprehensive understanding of multiple compound needs and it’s links to homelessness along with the requirements of working in a residential setting&nbsp;<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;A good working knowledge of domestic abuse and in particular, survivor’s experience along with a good working knowledge of housing legislation, state benefits and local housing policy and process.&nbsp;<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Strong knowledge and understanding of principles underpinning effective delivery of services that meets the needs of vulnerable and complex women&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;An understanding of risk management, safeguarding and public protection and its implication on practice, within a residential setting. &nbsp;<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Experience of working with a diverse range of people who have experienced a range of social/personal difficulties including substance misuse, mental health challenging and housing issues</p>\n<p><strong>Desirable</strong></p>\n<p>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Experience of providing a trauma informed service and delivering group-work programmes<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Experience of working in a psychologically informed way<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;Social Work qualification</p>\n<p>This role is subject to an enhanced check level 2 which includes an Enhanced DBS check.
