Broxbourne Borough Council’s Housing Advice Service is looking for a highly professional and enthusiastic person to join this ambitious and innovative Housing Prevention Team. Ideally, you will have some previous experience of working in a Local Authority homelessness setting and knowledge of the relevant legislation.
If you are interested in this new role, you would be working with a dedicated team, supporting those who are homeless to secure settled accommodation and move on from temporary accommodation. The role is interesting and varied, involves case management and the ability to work collaboratively with other partner agencies using your own initiative.
This is the job for you if you are a highly motivated person that has a genuine interest in helping people and has experience of working in a customer facing role. Excellent verbal communication skills in fluent English are essential, as this role requires having sensitive conversations and managing customer expectations effectively. Good written and analytical skills are equally important, therefore a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Math’s is fundamental. A full driving license is also required as visits to clients in the community will be part of the role.
This role requires a disclosure and barring service check as it is working with children or vulnerable clients.
