We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. We are looking for a part-time Development Sports Coach to join our team and support our Girls football development and competition programme.
The role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Camden Sport and Physical Activity Team supporting children and young people develop and maintain positive attitudes to being active within their daily lives. We are committed to using sport to inspire, motivate, educate and improve the health and life chances of young people in Camden.
In this role you will be responsible for planning and leading positive girls football coaching sessions. You’ll need to develop effective session plans to meet the varying needs of the different groups we work with.
You’ll act as a positive role model to inspire, motivate and empower young people to realise their potential. Further opportunities may become available to manage teams at evening and weekend competitions/leagues.
About You
You’ll have relevant sports coaching qualifications which include a minimum of Football Association (FA) Level 2 coaching award and be working towards developing further coaching qualifications.
You should have experience working with and coaching children within football and/or sports environments and of supporting children to participate in competitions and leagues.
You’ll also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work with a range of different people including children, coaches, officials and parents/carers.
Our coaching sessions take place after-school and early evenings, and the leagues are evenings and weekends, so you’ll need to be able to work during these hours and be able to travel independently to different locations.
Excellent time-keeping and management skills are also required. Most importantly you will be a positive role-model for young people.
This is a great opportunity for the right person to join our team.
