About the team
The Fleet Services team provides essential dedicated support to collect and deliver the Council's buses and other vehicles to and from various internal and external service providers around the county. A part of this work includes the inspection and assessment of the vehicles as well as ensuring that any driven are in a roadworthy condition. All driving that is carried out within this role will be done so by you in a safe and controlled manner.
About the role
The post will be based at the busy hub of Fleet Management and will involve a variety of tasks relating to daily fleet operations. The majority of these tasks will be associated with Wheelchair accessible vehicles collections and deliveries; however Integrated Transport Unit covers a wide variety of additional day-to-day duties.

About you
- Driving Qualification: Must possess at least a D1 entitlement.
- Team Player: Ability to work well in a team and independently. Must be adaptable to change and have strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers, the public, and colleagues.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit to meet the demands of the job.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adjust start and finish times (core hours are 8:30-16:30, with a 16:00 finish on Fridays) in case of breakdowns. Flexibility with annual leave in coordination with fleet staff is also required.
- Manual Handling: Ability to safely perform manual handling tasks, understanding and applying safe techniques.
