This role is office based for a minimum of two days per week.
Our Team:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Team within ICT Services at Halton Borough Council as a Systems Analyst.
This small but dynamic team support GIS development and use across the authority and Planning Systems along with maintenance of the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) and delivering ad-hoc training/advice sessions with all levels of staff.
Our technology stack is constantly evolving but currently includes MapInfo Professional, Idox Uniform, QGIS, CadCorp SIS Web, Safe Software FME (Form & Flow), AutoCAD, PowerBI and Python.
Your Contributions:
In this role you will be supported to become a subject matter expert in the fields of GIS and Planning Systems.
We are looking for a data driven individual who both drives and embraces technological changes and strives to deliver best value through the use of technology. Halton has a varied user base for these systems so flexibility will also be key when responding to ad-hoc information requests or providing advice on the latest innovations in the teams subject specialism. The ability to interact with others at all levels is an essential quality, including members of the public, elected members of the council and members of staff both internal and external.
GIS experience is preferred, however skills will be developed on the job with the successful candidate.
Roles and responsibilities include:
Maintenance of web mapping systems (Cadcorp)
Data manipulation using data tools such as FME
Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) maintenance
System administration Idox Uniform and DMS
Ad-hoc GIS support and requests
Experience of database systems (Oracle or Microsoft SQL) would be advantageous to this role.
