Helping Build a Better Brent

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

The post is an excellent opportunity for a professional with supervisory experience and good property negotiation skills. Experience of identifying, sourcing properties for housing and buybacks for regeneration programmes.

The post involves working across the Council’s buying programmes. This is a significant support role covering various high volume and high value acquisition programmes and support on a broad range of day-to-day residential property issues.

Negotiating with leaseholders, agents and developers to agree property transactions for the various programmes. Inspection of properties, instructing surveys and overseeing the buyback process. At completion supporting the handover process for properties acquired or sold, including inspection on completion, arranging security, meter readings, and handover to clients.

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of the Council's property programmes, which is required to achieve a significant number of property acquisitions in Brent and other areas for the council’s housing and regenerations programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in large-scale programmes that deliver property and housing solutions to local residence.

You will have experience of the property buying process, good negotiation skills and experience of sourcing good quality properties from the open market.

For this role, you will work with a team of property acquisition and disposal officers, lawyers and surveyors, so good written and verbal communication skills are essential.

You will be RICS registered or aspiring to be a RICS professional and have the ability to drive and a full clean Driving Licence would be desirable.
