Halton Health Improvement Team is looking to recruit a Breastfeeding Support Worker to join the Infant Feeding Team. We are looking for candidates who have relevant training and experience of supporting parents with breastfeeding.</p>\n<p>The Infant Feeding Team works closely alongside the Infant Feeding Specialist Lead at Halton 0-19 Service, and in collaboration with Family Hubs, midwives and health visitors.</p>\n<p>Our collective aim is to increase the initiation and continuation of breastfeeding; not only by providing antenatal information during pregnancy and supporting breastfeeding after birth, but by helping to create a culture in Halton where breastfeeding is the norm.</p>\n<p>The Infant Feeding service offers infant feeding support and advice to all parents, as well as one to one support with breastfeeding. The team delivers antenatal workshops, introducing solid food workshops and are involved in wider campaigns to promote breastfeeding.</p>\n<p>The core service runs from 9.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday, with some evening work to cover workshops and to meet the needs of the service. Services are delivered from a variety of locations, including clients’ homes, Family Hubs, clinics, community venues and agile office working.</p>\n<p><strong>Do you have excellent people and communication skills, and enjoy working with the public? Do you have a passion for breastfeeding and extensive knowledge of the benefits? We are seeking a motivated and compassionate person to join our team; someone who understands local health issues and the barriers to breastfeeding.</strong></p>\n<p>You must be able to work as part of a team, and be flexible, adaptable and responsive, as this is a service where the needs of service users come first, and no two days are ever the same.</p>\n<p>You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and commitment, in order to provide the best possible support and advice to all parents. You will work under the supervision and direction of the Early Years Health Improvement Specialist, as well as supporting the Infant Feeding Specialist clinics under Bridgewater NHS Trust, with clinical supervision from the Specialist Lead.</p>\n<p>Ideally, you will have completed the 2-day UNICEF breastfeeding management and relationship building training (or equivalent), in addition to existing knowledge of the health benefits of breastfeeding.
