Lingham Primary is seeking a skilled and motivated School Business Manager who will play a key role
in the efficient and effective management of the school's business and operational functions. You
will work closely with the headteacher, staff, governors, and external partners to ensure the school
runs smoothly and continues to offer the best possible experience for our children.
As School Business Manager, you will:
Lead and manage the schools financial, administrative, and HR functions.
Support the Headteacher in ensuring the effective use of resources and compliance with
statutory requirements.
Manage premises, health and safety, and school contracts.
Develop and maintain robust financial systems, including budget planning and reporting.
Line-manage administrative staff and the premises team, fostering a positive and
collaborative working environment.
Oversee GDPR compliance and act as a key member of the senior leadership team.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the school, including HR, facilities, and health and
safety.
Ensure compliance with all legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
Support with fundraising and income generation where appropriate.
Work closely with the headteacher to support school improvement planning and resource
allocation.
The ideal candidate will have:
Relevant qualifications, such as the Certificate/Diploma in School Business Management or
equivalent.
Experience in financial management, HR, and administration, ideally in a school setting.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR, and health and safety regulations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in financial and management information systems.
A proactive and strategic approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities
effectively.
