How You’ll Be Involved

We're looking for a Social Value Property Surveyor to transform Camden's vacant spaces into productive hubs for small businesses and communities. This role, based within the Commercial Property team but collaborating across Property and Strategy, Inclusive Economy, and Area Regeneration teams, focuses on implementing initiatives such as: 

• The Camden Affordable Workspace Strategy 
• The Vacant Spaces on Estates Programme
• The Camden Future High Streets Programme
• The Neighborhood Hubs Programme. 

You will tackle challenges related to leasing unconventional spaces such as garages, a disused theatre and old Victorian community building, aiming to achieve social value objectives. Your responsibilities include advising internal departments, modeling rent scenarios, negotiating leases with social value outcomes, and managing lease agreements through to completion. This role is pivotal in developing innovative approaches and resources to maximize the community benefits of Camden's property assets.

All About You
We are looking for a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or someone with an equivalent qualification in commercial, valuation, general practice, or a related field. You should have extensive knowledge and experience in commercial property management and landlord-tenant negotiations, as well as a strong understanding of property law and best practices in valuation techniques. Your background includes handling sensitive property issues and presenting reports to committees or clients.

You excel in both oral and written communication, offering clear and accurate advice on valuation practices and procedures. With strong negotiation skills, you can undertake a full range of professional valuation work. Your ability to work well within a team, efficiently plan and execute complex tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure is complemented by your skill in writing reports and delivering effective presentations.
