BREAKFAST CLUB PLAYWORKER VACANCY – Mornings Only
Hartford Primary School have launched their own in house Breakfast and After School Club and are inviting applicants to join the new team at this exciting time.
We are looking for a dedicated person to join our team providing the very best childcare in our school for each child, in what will be a very rewarding role. We are looking for a playworker who can bring fun, enthusiasm, professionalism and drive to our setting.
Your responsibilities will include: -
- Helping prepare and deliver quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment as per the timetable
- Providing comprehensive care for the children
- Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment
- Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met
- Meet and greet the children on arrival
- Administering first aid, when necessary
- Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities
- Facilitating good communication with all team members, parents, children and school
- Undertaking appropriate and relevant training
- Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure
- Working within the framework of the school’s policies and procedures
Essential skills required for the role:
- Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
- Provide and facilitate safe play
- Good communication skills
- Able to work as part of a team
- Sound judgement and common sense
Pay: Grade 2, SCP 2 - £23,656 per annum, this is a tern time role.
Actual Salary: £2,418 - £12.26 hourly rate.
Position Hours
This position is to work mornings only in the Breakfast Club (7.30am – 9.00am). Initially we are looking for someone who can work at least 3 morning a week (Monday, Tuesday and Friday), but with the possibility to move to 5 mornings a week in the near future.
This position is temporary until 31.08.2025, with a view to becoming permanent
Closing date: Monday 20th January 2025 at midday. Interviews will take place on Thursday 23rd January in the afternoon.
