We are looking to appoint a motivated and successful leader to be the next Headteacher of our
school. The Priory is a welcoming, nurturing, and inclusive school that is committed to the local
community and where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
Our new Headteacher will have the highest ambitions for our children. They will be an outstanding
leader and a great communicator, have real leadership skills and a clear vision for excellent Christian
education. They will appreciate the benefits of working with a supportive team of staff, governors and
parents. They will be committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of children, staff and the wider
school community.
The Priory is a one form entry Church of England primary school situated in Birkenhead, offering
education provision for 2-year-olds and a specialist nurture base. The Priory Parish and the school
have strong links.
We are excited by the progress we have made so far and are looking forward to welcoming a
Headteacher who can continue to build upon this work to achieve the best possible outcomes for our
pupils, families and staff.
Salary: £73,819 - £85,529 (L17- L23)
Start date: 1st September 2025
Closing date for applications: Friday 2nd May 2025 (no later than noon)
Shortlisting will take place w/c 6th May 2025, and shortlisted candidates will be contacted as soon as
possible after the shortlisting meeting. Interviews will be held on 19th May (school-based activities)
and 20th May (formal interviews).
