The Governors are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified person to work with children with special educational needs within a classroom setting. This could be within Early Years, KS1 or KS2. The children being supported need help to overcome barriers to learning, such as those with learning difficulties and/or, social, communication or sensory disabilities. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of working with children who have special education needs.

• Have experience and understanding of managing sensory needs of children.
• Have experience in running interventions.
• Have an understanding of how to support and interact with children who have speech, language and communication difficulties.
• Have an understanding of how to support children who are experiencing difficulty with their social interaction skills.

Appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Baring Service and health clearance by the Local Authority Occupational Health provider.
