We are the custodians of the local environment, and are keen to improve the offering across these cherished facilities.\nAs part of our innovative approach to addressing the environmental challenges of the modern world, we have repurposed a former brownfield site into an exciting project – St Michael’s Eco Park (SMEP).\nSMEP is the home of the council’s solar farm which delivers power to the borough’s DCBL Stadium. The SMEP site also hosts over 400 species of flora and fauna within habitats such as open mosaic, an orchard, grassland and woodlands.\nYour Contributions:\nAs a passionate environmentalist, you will be responsible for the promotion of the Council’s environmental commitments through the facilitation of educational visits to St Michael’s Eco Park, working with volunteer groups, utilising social media, and running events.\nYou will manage the landscape and habitats on site by carrying out horticultural, woodland and countryside management tasks as laid out in the site work programme through the safe operation of the Council’s machinery and fleet.
