As the most senior and qualified auditor within the team, you will report directly to the Internal Audit Manager and play a pivotal role in delivering the Internal Audit Plan. Your work will enable the Head of Audit and Risk Management to provide a statutory annual opinion on the control environment.</p>\n<h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<strong>Audit Planning and Execution:</strong> Plan, manage, and deliver complex and high-risk compliance and advisory audits. Develop audit terms of reference and testing approaches, incorporating data analytics as required. Allocate and oversee audit work performed by apprentices and junior auditors.</li>\n<li>\n<strong>Supervision and Training:</strong> Supervise and mentor apprentices and junior auditors, providing on-the-job training and ensuring adherence to quality standards.</li>\n<li>\n<strong>Reporting and Recommendations:</strong> Prepare comprehensive audit reports for senior management, detailing audit objectives, findings, and recommendations for improvement. Lead exit meetings to discuss audit outcomes and agree on management actions.</li>\n<li>\n<strong>Recommendation Tracker Management:</strong> Maintain and enhance the Internal Audit Recommendation Tracker. Ensure timely updates on the status of recommendations and develop effective reporting mechanisms to monitor progress.</li>\n<li>\n<strong>Stakeholder Engagement:</strong> Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior management and key officers across the Council. Represent the Internal Audit Service at committees and other external engagements as required.</li>\n<li>\n<strong>Knowledge and Standards:</strong> Stay up-to-date with the Council’s operations, risks, and relevant internal audit standards, guidance, and best practices. At Bracknell Forest Council, our Internal Audit function is crucial in ensuring that our governance, risk management, and control frameworks are robust and effective.
