The new plan brings forward further Strategic Development Locations including a new Garden Village.\nTo help deliver this work we are looking for a highly motivated and versatile Senior Planning Officer, with knowledge and experience of working on major development schemes and infrastructure delivery, liaising closely with other services and stakeholders both within the Council and outside, engaging members and the public at public meetings, who has great communication and analytical skills, and the drive to make a significant contribution to borough’s requirement to deliver new housing, services and infrastructure working proactively with other service providers and the local community.\nYou will work in a vibrant and busy Development Management Service as part of the Strategic Delivery Team and will have the opportunity to deal with major planning applications, appeals, stakeholder meetings and pre application enquiries. A successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and demonstrate a good understanding of development management legislation and policies, have a good understanding of development practices, housing and infrastructure delivery, good written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate ability to build relationships and work closely with applicants, other service areas, members and the public, and be able to project manage complex projects whilst working to strict deadlines.\nThe area given its location is under significant development pressures and the role offers the successful candidate a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build upon existing experience in working on complex planning projects whilst working in a great team.
