Experience of undertaking public consultation, including public meetings and exhibitions, is desirable. You will be proficient at using Microsoft Office and GIS based applications. Strong knowledge of project management principles and implementation is required and you will have a good understanding of public involvement in local projects.</p>\n<p>This is an area of work with strong public and political interest.  For both posts, strong communication, team and partnership working skills are essential. In the job role you will be required to demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of electoral registration, elections and referenda. You must be able to work well under pressure, have a keen attention to detail and be able to work with a high level of accuracy. Good communication and IT skills are essential. Knowledge of Xpress software is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. </p>\n<p><strong>About you</strong> </p>\n<p>Ideally you will have knowledge in electoral registration and electoral services. This would be a distinct advantage but is not essential. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills. </p>\n<p>You must be prepared to work extended hours during the busy election and registration period, often at short notice, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays. </p>\n<p>You will be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills within a regulatory framework, taking a key role in increasing operational performance and developing and delivering practical interventions to maintain service delivery, in line with statutory requirements.
