You will be able to work well under pressure and have experience dealing with a dynamic workload in a fast-paced environment. The Wellbeing service is part of a county-wide programme in West Sussex to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent ill-health within our local communities. The service provides information, advice and signposts local people to services for help and support.</p>\n<p>As a Health & Wellbeing Adviser you will be responsible for providing one-to-one advice, support and motivation to adults wishing to improve their health and wellbeing through behaviour change. The postholder will support the delivery of the Horsham Wellbeing Alcohol Reduction service by providing one-to-one appointments (in person, via telephone or online) to adults who are drinking at Increasing risk and Higher risk levels in order to prevent alcohol-related harm and possible future dependence on alcohol. You will also deliver 12-week weight management programmes to groups of adults who have a BMI of 25-40 providing them with the skills and knowledge to help them achieve and maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. There will also be a requirement to deliver one-to-one smoking cessation interventions.</p>\n<p>This is a maternity cover post, initially to end 31<sup>st</sup> March 2026, or on return of post holder. The post holder will report directly to the Wellbeing Team Leader and will be based at our Wellbeing Hub in Swan Walk (Horsham) or delivering within the community. This is a full-time role however we would consider applications from people wishing to do part time hours (minimum 28 hours per week).</p>\n<p><strong>About you:</strong></p>\n<p>To succeed as Health & Wellbeing Adviser you will be highly motivated with a good understanding of healthy lifestyles and wellbeing issues.
