Duties will include ensuring decisions on applications are made within the statutory period, undertaking site inspections so that works carried out on site comply with the building regulations, inspecting Dangerous Structures, providing out of hours and office cover.</p>\n<p>We are seeking applicants with a good level of literacy and numeracy together with excellent IT skills.  You will also need to be committed to delivering a first-class customer focused service in a competitive environment and marketing the department and Local Authority Building Control (LABC).</p>\n<p>The ability to make clear concise and accurate decisions on the spot and under pressure is essential. You will ideally be a member of the CABE, RICS or CIOB. Working alongside the planners, your role will be to provide expert advice on heritage matters and provide urban design input into major and strategic sized developments.
