Here at Wokingham Borough Council, we have a full time, permanent opening for a Business Support Officer.
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated team member to provide administrative assistance for the new Residential Children's Homes service.
As a Business Support Officer, you will collaborate with our front-line practitioners and actively participate in the development and enhancement of services to better serve children, young people, and their families. In order to support the day-to-day operations of the service, you will assist the Registered Manager and team in facilitating multi-agency statutory meetings, answering phone calls and emails, managing mailboxes, overseeing all areas of finance for the service, collating key performance indicators and essential data for Ofsted inspections. and assisting the service in making sure all necessary documentation is recorded and stored on the necessary systems and that statutory deadlines are met.
The service is spread out over two houses that are about a 7-minute drive apart and situated near Junction 11 of the M4 motorway.
Depending on the demands of the service, you will need to work on-site at each of the residences five days a week.
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- A high level of written and oral communication skills.
- Experience of minuting/recording of high-level meetings.
- Experience of working with confidential and sensitive information.
- The ability to work under pressure.
- The ability to engage with young people who have a history of complex trauma
Experience of working in a Children’s Services setting is highly desirable.
