About the Role:
Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council have formed a strategic partnership known as the OneTeam Transformation. This partnership aims to create a unified officer team that shares knowledge, experience, and projects for the overall benefit of both councils. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults and expect all employees, contractors, and volunteers to share this commitment.
As a Community Safety Officer, you will work as part of a team to address and resolve complaints of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in line with the Councils' ASB Policy and Strategy. You will also support the Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) for both councils, managing projects, engaging with the police, and supporting various community safety initiatives. The work will also include joint operations with the police and other partners to support residents in making where they live safer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle allocated ASB cases for Brentwood Borough Council’s Housing Services.
- Maintain appropriate records related to complaints, interactions, progress, and referrals.
- Collaborate with Police, CSPs, and internal and external partners to deliver safer communities.
- Promote effective joint working and participate in multi-agency problem-solving groups.
- Support the development and delivery of CSP Partnership Plans, Annual Reports, and Strategic Assessments.
- Assist in joint actions, estate walkabouts, promotional days, and events.
- Manage financial tasks such as setting up accounts, raising purchase orders, and clearing invoices.
- Act as a professional witness when required.
- Prepare and collate statistical information to a high standard.
- Use IT solutions to maintain information databases and intelligence systems.
Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of relevant laws, guidance, policies, and procedures related to community safety, ASB, and crime and disorder issues.
- Experience dealing with ASB cases related to social housing for a local authority or other social housing provider.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
