What You’ll Be Doing
Join Camden's dynamic Legal Services team, where you’ll play a critical role in breaking down barriers while embracing a risk-aware approach. You'll engage with senior officers and Members to offer high-quality legal services, with a focus on social justice. Collaborate closely with various service directorates to ensure efficient delivery of Council priorities, all while managing a personal caseload that includes high-profile and complex cases. Become a trusted advisor, advocate, and problem solver as you contribute to Camden's vision of innovative, responsive legal solutions.

You will be qualified to practice in England and Wales as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
You will have excellent demonstrable detailed knowledge of civil law practise and procedure and recent experience of effectively managing a caseload of general litigation matters and advising on civil litigation matters in many of the following areas, to include - commercial and residential property disputes, business lease renewals, housing conditions claims, Equality Act 2010 claims, breaches of lease/tenancy conditions, Contract disputes, Tortious disputes, Boundary disputes, Debt actions, Adverse possession, Trespass, Injunctions, Access cases, Parking, Traffic Management Orders, Judicial Reviews.
You should also have a sound understanding of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act and other related building safety legislation and also the requirements for compliance by the council of the various regulators (including the Building Safety Regulator, Regulator of Social Housing, Housing Ombudsman and the Local Govt Ombudsman).
You should possess a robust understanding of local government law and have hands-on experience in preparing cases and drafting legal documents.
