We have a great opportunity in our Planning Enforcement Team to be involved in ensuring high quality development is in line with approved plans and that breaches of planning control are regularised. This will ensure the beautiful nature of our rural district is maintained and enhanced.

The role
As a Senior Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Investigating and resolving breaches of planning control for complex cases. This will need to draw on your experience and knowledge of planning legislation in dealing with sensitive and demanding situations.
- Reporting to the Enforcement Manager who will be there to support and provide guidance to you.
- Working on your own initiative in dealing with your caseload. There are a wide variety of cases to investigate which will provide an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience and skill base.
Who we’re looking for:
- A self-starter who is enthusiastic about protecting our countryside and ensuring high quality development, using the tools open to a local authority to monitor and enforce breaches.
- You will have demonstrable experience of effectively managing enforcement cases from initial investigation through to appeal.
- You will be proactive and a good communicator, able to work effectively alone and as part of a team.
What we offer
The salary for our Senior Planning Enforcement Officer is £38,796 to £43,894. There will also be a welcome payment of £5000 (after successful completion of probationary period and a retention payment of £5000 at the end of the third year.
