To organise a daily routine that meets the emotional, social, physical and intellectual needs of the children, building links and working in partnership with parents, carers and professionals to promote the wellbeing of the children.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Your responsibilities will include: -</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the day-to-day management and organisation of the club, including staffing rota ensuring correct staff to child ratios at all times.</li>\n<li>Manage the booking system, attendance and registers</li>\n<li>Provide quality after school care and prepare creative and appropriate play opportunities in a homely, nurturing and safe environment with regard to the individual development needs of the children within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures.</li>\n<li>Plan and organise a nutritious snack time and assist children with their personal hygiene tasks, as appropriate, ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met. Place regular food orders with approved supplier.</li>\n<li>Promote positive attitudes and attend meetings, as requested, to ensure the smooth running of the club. Prepare reports as requested for the Headteacher and Governing Body.</li>\n<li>Ensure adequate standards of safety and hygiene are maintained throughout, including the completion of appropriate risk assessments and recording and reporting of hazards and accidents.</li>\n<li>Undertake appropriate and relevant training.</li>\n<li>To provide line management to a team of playworkers, when required, directing the work of staff based at the After School Club, supervising their activities and inducting new staff members.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Essential skills required for the role:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>NVQ Level 3 Playworker or Equivalent</li>\n<li>Ideally first aid and food hygiene qualified</li>\n<li>Sound understand of Safeguarding children and desire to working towards L3 Designated Safeguarding lead qualification</li>\n<li>Experience of admin and IT resources and systems</li>\n<li>Experience of managing a small team of people.</li>\n<li>Understanding the varied needs of children and their families with the ability to communicate with children, parents and staff</li>\n<li>Cooperative and flexible approach</li>\n<li>Trustworthy, reliable and punctual</li>\n<li>Show initiative and hardworking</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a Grade 6, SCP 12 - £24,496 per annum.
