Adoption in Merseyside (AiM) is the Regional Adoption Agency for the Merseyside region covering Knowsley, Sefton, Liverpool and Wirral.  AiM provides all statutory adoption functions including recruitment and assessment of adopters, family finding for children and adoption support

We have one part time Social Worker post within the AiM Recruitment and Assessment Team. This post is for preparing and assessing potential adopters, training, report writing, attending AiM Adoption Panel, supporting adopters with children placed and working in an experienced adoption recruitment team

The post is 18 hours.  Agile working is implemented in AiM 

You will need to be qualified and professionally registered as a social worker and have an understanding of the statutory guidance, legislation and research relating to adoption. 

Good assessment skills and an understanding of adoption social work practice and processes are required for this post, along with a good understanding of adopted children's needs and the ability to work collaboratively with Local Authority Social Workers as well as an understanding of Children Looked After policies and procedures.
