The officer will support Sevenoaks District Council’s Housing Options and Solutions team and with your extensive housing knowledge and experience, you’ll work to assist in preventing and reducing homelessness in the district.
Acting as a first point of contact for customers, you’ll be responsible for triaging customers through a rapid initial assessment of their needs and circumstances.
Your excellent communication skills will be invaluable providing customers with comprehensive advice and guidance directing customers to the correct service, aiding with early interventions such as mediation and ensuring they receive the support the need.
You’ll bring resilience to the service by providing coordination and administration support and assisting with day-to-day activities.
If you have experience in providing advice and support and dealing with vulnerable customers, you’ll know it takes effective communication and empathy as well as the ability to work to deadlines and in difficult situations.
This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles where your working time will be divided between the office (2-3 days) and home working (2-3 days).
