Libraries are more than just repositories for books - Caerphilly Library Service plays a valuable role to all residents in the community. Our library spaces are trusted, free to enter and open to everyone. In them, people can explore and share reading, information, knowledge and culture.
Do you have good communications, customer care and team working skills? Are you flexible in your approach and able to work under pressure? Do you have an interest in books and their potential for education, recreation and personal development together with an appreciation of the uses of ICT applications and the Internet? If you answer yes, read on.

Duties will be all of those associated with the day to day running of the library, including the issue, return and shelving of books, assisting with ICT, receipt of monies and dealing with personal and telephone enquiries.
The library is a designated Welsh language reception point. This post requires the successful post holder to converse with customers in the medium of Welsh. A spoken knowledge of Welsh would be desirable but not essential and CCBC will support staff to undertake Welsh language training.
For the post, we ask that you have:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C (or equivalent)
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment
- Knowledge and understanding of the role and of the services offered by the public library service.
