The Post
Join our team as a New Roads and Street Works Officer, where you'll play a crucial part in coordinating street works and reducing traffic congestion across the borough. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with Statutory Undertakers, utility companies, and internal teams to ensure compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004. As part of a dedicated team, you will support the planning, control, and co-ordination of works on the public highway, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining high standards of service. The Person
We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Streetworks Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have NRSWA Supervisor Level and LANTRA 12D -Traffic Management design accreditation and a solid understanding of highways legislation, maintenance techniques, and the National Permit Scheme. You should be experienced in using performance indicators and have a good grasp of highway maintenance operations. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work independently are essential. The role requires good interpersonal skills, computer literacy, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service while adhering to the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy. A full, clean driving licence is also required.
