Making A Difference as a Relief Community Driver / Support Assistant in Community Integrated Services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Relief Community Driver / Support Assistant.
Are you interested in making a difference as a relief Community Driver / Support Assistant as part of our highly recommended VIP award winning, busy Community Integrated Transport Service. If you think this opportunity is for you on a relief basis, working alongside your current post, we would really like too here from you.
Providing a invaluable service as a relief Community Driver / Support Assistant, you will work alongside our drivers / passenger assistants and be responsible for the safe transportation of vulnerable children, adults and older people, along with their personal belongings and medical aids, to council day services, services within the community, care homes, hospitals, and schools and other venues.
We are looking for someone who has good communication and teamwork skills, and some experience of working in a care setting or personal experience of caring for someone and understands the needs of vulnerable children, adults and older people.
It is vital all applicants hold a valid driving licence, including D1 category, and it would be helpful but not essential to have some experience in driving a minibus. You will be expected to attend the Council’s minibus driver training session and complete a practical driving assessment at the start of your role.
The successful candidates will be supported by the Transport Coordinator through induction, supervision, appraisal and additional training to carry out the post and personal development within the role.
