INTRODUCTION
Lewisham Council is looking for an experience programme manager with the knowledge, experience and skills to manage the expiry of our Housing PFI contract. A key requirement will be commercial negotiation with the PFI Company and their sub contractors to ensure that the expiry is well managed, value for money is achieved, residents suffer no loss of service and any disputes are managed to achieve a positive outcome for the Council. Strong stakeholder management experience combined with attention to detail on contracts and specifications will be essential. You will be responsible for managing a small team of officers to deliver this vital project.
What’s the role?
This post reports to the Director of Resident Engagement and Services in Housing and is responsible for the management of the expiry of our Housing PFI contract. This is the first PFI contract to expire at Lewisham Council so this is a new post and a new process. The PFI has 1,829 properties under management. There is a complex commercial environment to be navigated in ensuring that the risks of the expiry process are managed. As the PFI delivers essential services within the community it is vital that we prepare and have a good handover at the end of the contract. Significant risks will need to be managed, diverse expertise and resources will need to be applied to achieve the required outcome.

What we’re looking for
We are seeking an experienced programme manager who can take on this new post within the Housing Directorate to manage this programme with a number of significant workstreams including the transfer of staff, data and records. The Council is commissioning an asset handback condition survey and the PFI Expiry team will manage this and the resulting programme of works to completion.
Location
The job is primarily based in , but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office, from the PFI premises in Brockley and from home on a regular basis.

Salary
£62,922 - £67,500 per annum (SMG1)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
