Licensing Officer

We are seeking a licensing officer who will be responsible for the licensing of taxis, alcohol and gambling. They will also be required to provide assistance and cover for other team members as appropriate in respect of other licensing regimes including street trading, pavement licensing, scrap metal dealers, animal licensing, mobile homes / campsites, sex establishments and charitable collections.

The successful candidate will help regulate the licensing regimes through inspections and investigations. This will include work outside of normal office hours and in the local area. The successful candidate will give effect to a range of enforcement options, attend hearings, reviews, give evidence in court and help ensure that our licensing policies and objectives are achieved.

The role will also include assisting in the processing of licence applications and helping applicants, interested parties and other regulatory agencies to achieve appropriate licensing outcomes.

There will be the opportunity to be involved with developing processes, procedures and policies, as we look to continually improve the service we provide.

We are looking for a pragmatic, team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who has the ability to work with technical legislation to provide a high quality, customer-focused service in a flexible manner.

Interviews will be held on 13^th / 14^th March 2025 and due to the close partnership working involved with the role, it is anticipated that the interview panel will be made up of officers from both Rushmoor Borough Council and Hampshire Constabulary.
