About the role
The Education and Engagement Officer can make a real difference by educating others on how to reduce their waste and consumption. In this dynamic role, you will support a brand-new team with the delivery of NLWA’s education activities, focusing on face-to-face engagement with schools. Your key aim is to promote sustainability, waste prevention, and the circular economy through engaging educational activities.
You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of NLWA’s in-schools programme, In the Know, as well as at our education centre, EcoPark House. You will regularly be engaging with school staff and pupils, communicating desirable waste behaviours in ways that are interesting and accessible to all.
The role is a mixture face-to-face and desk-based work, with your time in the office invested in coordinating schedules, liaising with school stakeholders, maintaining NLWA’s Education Hub, and monitoring and evaluating NLWA’s educational activities. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of educational resources.
About you
Are you a strong communicator who’s passionate about the environment? Are you experienced in the school or educational settings? An Education and Engagement Officer will be a confident and approachable person who has experience promoting environmental education to schools and communities.
We are seeking enthusiastic people who have proven communication skills and experience navigating school structures and stakeholders. Proactive individuals with the skills to work both collaboratively and independently, and to influence others, will thrive in this role.
Time management, organisation and punctuality are all key attributes of the post holder. You will be expected to be efficient and detail-oriented in your preparation of materials and delivery of work.
