About the team
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Information Officer in the Statutory School Exclusion Team.
The Statutory School Exclusion Team is responsible for ensuring the Local Authority's duties in relation to suspension and permanent exclusion from school, and
securing school places for pupils who meet the threshold for Group A of the Hertfordshire Fair Access Protocol.
About the role
In this role you will be the key contact for all data requests submitted to The Statutory School Exclusion Team. You will be responsible for collating and manipulating data on Excel spreadsheets relating to the work of the team, producing reports and information as required by Senior Managers. There is high level of accuracy required and the ability to be creative in the presentation of data.
As part of your duties, you will need to monitor and action the Team's generic email inboxes. You will be responsible for ensuring key processes as part of the DfE Statutory Exclusions Guidance and maintaining the register of permanently excluded pupils, seeking information from stakeholders as required.
You may also be required to offer support, guidance and advice to families, schools and Governors in respect of children at risk of permanent exclusion, or those who have been permanently excluded.

About you
Essential:
- Educated to A-level standard or equivalent experience.
- Experience of liaising with stakeholders to gather information and ensure key deadlines are met.
- Proven ability to maintain statistical and other information, and the production of reports based on these data.
- Experience of working successfully under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisation, time management and prioritisation skills.
- Experience of MS packages, particularly Excel, Word and MS Teams.
- Understanding of the Local Authority statutory responsibilities in relation to school exclusion.
