Regeneration Project Manager (Neasden Civic Partnership Programme)

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

Brent is one of five London Boroughs who have successfully received Greater London Authority (GLA) Civic Partnership Programme Exemplar funding allocations. Exemplar funding will deliver a number of capital projects that will pilot and demonstrate the impact of innovative regeneration approaches to expand the public realm, strengthen representation and authorship in physical regeneration, address the climate and ecological emergencies, and contribute to the delivery of a place‑based regeneration strategy developed for Neasden Town Centre.

The Neasden Civic Partnership Programme will address key challenges facing the town centre in terms of crime and antisocial behaviour, competition from nearby centres, road noise, air pollution, severance and a lack of access to open green space and youth facilities. Ambitious, community led regeneration will focus on raising the quality of the public realm and environment, community programming and activation, improving key local connections, and in so doing ensure existing and new communities will find in Neasden a place where different communities can thrive.

As Regeneration Project Manager for the Neasden Civic Partnership Programme you will lead and take responsibility for the design, planning and delivery of a range of high quality physical placemaking projects, co-designed and delivered in partnership with the GLA, TfL, internal council teams and the local community, and which must deliver real, sustainable, change and positive outcomes for the benefit of the areas’ diverse residents, businesses and community groups.

The Person

You will be an experienced and passionate regeneration practitioner, with a significant track record of achievement in urban regeneration and placemaking.

You will have experience of driving forward successful project delivery within a robust programme management framework. Expertise in procuring and managing multidisciplinary teams, budgets and performance, public engagement and collaborative working with a range of partners and local stakeholders, and the ability to think innovatively will be key to unlock the development and capital delivery of complex and integrated regeneration solutions.

You will have the opportunity to lead the delivery of the design, planning and delivery of a high‑profile regeneration programme which will allow local people of all backgrounds to play a greater role in shaping their local area and delivering better public spaces to live, work and play.

Closing Date: 3 October 2024 (23:59)
