This includes managing and maximising the Council’s investment, operational, community and other assets and oversight of the team responsible for delivering the housing development programme.</p>\n<p>You will be responsible for ensuring the Council takes advantage of opportunities for inward investment in its assets, infrastructure and amenities and ensuring proper arrangements are in place to deliver regeneration schemes and other asset or infrastructure programmes.</p>\n<p>You will also ensure the Council has a clear and consistent commercial property strategy.</p>\n<p>Your responsibilities will include:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strategic use of the General Fund asset portfolio.</li>\n<li>Housing development.</li>\n<li>Regeneration projects.</li>\n<li>Facilities management.</li>\n<li>Garage management.</li>\n<li>Inward investment and bid coordination.</li>\n<li>Project delivery, e.g. physical infrastructure works to toilets, amenities, etc.</li>\n<li>Ownership of the Council's commercial property strategy.</li>\n<li>Management of commercial investment properties.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Who we’re looking for</strong></p>\n<p>We are looking for a Chartered Surveyor with a background in commercial asset management.  Applicants must be experienced in leasing, acquisitions, disposals, rent reviews and lease renewals.</p>\n<p>Experience in facilities management, development and project management is also desirable.</p>\n<p>Previous employment with a council would be an advantage. </p>\n<p>The job needs someone used to managing an internal team and professional consultants, who can give strategic direction on property matters and can confidently present to council leadership and councillors.</p>\n<p>This is a senior role and you will be expected to demonstrate and exemplify our <a href=\"{{SIGN-IN-REQUIRED}}\">values and behaviours</a>.</p>\n<p>You should be an excellent communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and work well with other teams.
