Working as part of a small team in the Recycling Centre service you will manage and continuously improve the provision of this statutory service to the residents of Hertfordshire.<br><br>Working closely with colleagues in a small team to manage a number of Recycling Centres and Reuse shops within the county. Duties and responsibilities will include:<ul>\n<li>Ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation including Environmental and Health & Safety requirements</li>\n<li>Promote continuous improvement in levels of customer service as well as recycling performance, waste reduction and increasing Reuse.</li>\n<li>Travel round the county providing visible leadership to remote teams and conducting frequent inspections relating to service provision and compliance.</li>\n<li>Dealing with members of the public in person, on the phone and via written communications.</li>\n<li>Investigate accidents, incidents, complaints and customer enquiries to provide a full and reasoned response and resolution.</li>\n<li>Challenging service users who may be fraudulently accessing free public services and at the expense of tax payers.</li>\n<li>Make reasoned and evidenced decisions regarding service provision on weekends on behalf of senior management.</li>\n<li>Using initiative and creativity to solve complex problems within the framework of applicable legislation and council policy.</li>\n<li>Responsible for the effective maintenance of infrastructure, plant and machinery at recycling centres</li>\n<li>Use clear and effective communications with contractors to ensure continuous service delivery.</li>\n<li>Identifying the need for and placing orders for goods and services related to the service and goods receipting for invoice payment approval.</li>\n</ul><br><b>Additional Information</b><br><br>As someone engaged in ensuring a compliant and positive working environment across a diverse and dispersed front line team everyday will present different challenges.
