Knowsley Council is an award-winning Local Authority, named Local Authority of the Year in the MJ Awards 2024. Come join us and be part of our future success!
We are in the process of creating our first People Strategy and, recognising the importance and impact of excellent HR services, we are growing our HR Team. We are recruiting for a number of HR Casework & Investigations Officers within our newly expanded Employee Relations team. You will be responsible for managing your own casework on a range of HR matters including discipline, grievance, absence management as well as consulting with staff and trade unions on policies, service reviews and TUPE.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about HR, is a natural problem solver and a confident communicator, often dealing with challenging situations.
In return, we offer the opportunity to join our evolving team, which, under new leadership, is shaping the future of Knowsley Council and its services. We offer a wide range of benefits including development opportunities, hybrid working, discounts and salary sacrifice schemes, an excellent pension and a welcoming and supportive team culture
We asked some of our current team, both those who have worked at Knowsley for a significant amount of time and those who are new to the team what their top three reasons to join the team would be:
Why Knowsley?
Knowsley is part of the Liverpool City Region, with the population here growing faster than the City Region as a whole. We have huge ambitions for our workforce, our residents and local communities. The population is becoming more diverse, and we want our workforce to be representative of the communities we serve, particularly welcoming applications for these roles from all under-represented groups.
As well as Knowsley Safari Park attracting over 600,000 visitors per year, the Borough is also home to the iconic Shakespeare North Playhouse that has welcomed over 100,000 visitors in its first year, the second largest business park in the North West consisting of 800 businesses employing 18,600 people as well and Liverpool and Everton FC’s training ground.
We promote applications from all sections of the community, regardless of background, belief, or identity, recognising the value that diversity brings to our organisation. We particularly welcome applications from individuals from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds and candidates with disabilities as we acknowledge their underrepresentation in our workforce.
At Knowsley Council we will consider requests for flexible working. For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: flexible hours, working from home, compressed hours, part-time.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy earlier than the specified date should we receive sufficient applicants.
At Knowsley we value our applicants and want them to feel well-informed and welcomed. If you have any questions about this specific job role or what it is like to work at Knowsley, please contact Graham Ennis on 07818 013867 or email at graham.ennis@knowsley.gov.uk or Sue Welsh on 07385 375328 or email at sue.welsh@knowsley.gov.uk
