You’ll need to be a strategic thinker, a highly organised individual who is able to manage mutiple areas of work, have the ability to interpret and analyse complex information and data.  You will need to engage and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and partners.</p>\n<p>Key duties and responsibilities:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the development, implementation and monitoring of the Council’s housing strategies, undertaking research to underpin and evidence the proposed approach </li>\n<li>Take ownership and oversight of the Council's library of housing policies  </li>\n<li>Undertake research and 'horizon scan' for new national and regional trends, assessing the implications of these on the wider housing service</li>\n<li>Lead on government housing consultations, assessing the implication those proposals would have on the housing service and our residents </li>\n<li>Lead on the management of the Council's self-build register, pulling together the necessary monitoring returns to Government  </li>\n<li>Provide support on the affordable housing delivery programme and support on a range of housing projects, leading on specific projects where relevant</li>\n<li>Provide support on writing bids for external funding</li>\n<li>Provide written reports and briefing notes on various housing topics and be able to present to senior managers and Members </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Skills, attributes and experience:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>A relevant degree or equivalent housing experience</li>\n<li>Good communicator (both written and verbal)</li>\n<li>Good organisational skills</li>\n<li>Ability to undertake research, interpret and analyse complex information and data</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Closing date: Thursday 24th October 2024, 11pm</p>\n<p>Interview Date: Tuesday 5th November 2024 (subject to change)</p>\n<p>For an informal, confidential discussion about this role, please contact the recruiting manager Frances Haywood on 07769 955068 or at frances.haywood@wokingham.gov.uk</p>\n<p>Wokingham Borough Council is committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff, other workers and volunteers to share this commitment.
